Wild Life Sydney Zoo

Forget your Bondi breakfasts with smashed avo – this Tuesday, we're swapping ocean views for something wildly different. Imagine the squawk of a cockatoo as vibrant as a Potts Point cocktail, the rustle of a wallaby through eucalyptus, or the slow, deliberate plod of a wombat. It’s an immersive burst of Aussie fauna, right here in our urban backyard, a living, breathing slice of the bush without having to leave the 2026 city limits.

What is it?

We're talking about a special, one-off pop-up experience transforming a corner of Bondi into a microcosm of Australian wildlife. This isn't the permanent WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo you know; this is an exclusive, temporary exhibition brought to you by *What's In Sydney*. For a single day, we're curating an intimate encounter with some of Australia's most iconic creatures. Expect thoughtfully designed, interactive habitats showcasing koalas, kangaroos, and an array of colourful birds. It's an educational and enchanting journey designed to bring the magic of the wild closer to home, perfect for curious minds of all ages.

Why go?

Because where else in Bondi can you get up close and personal with a sleepy koala, watch a joey peek from its mother’s pouch, or marvel at the iridescent plumage of native birds, all before lunch? This isn’t just a static display; expect engaging keeper talks that illuminate the lives and habitats of these incredible animals, offering insights you won't find in a textbook. It’s an opportunity to create genuine, memorable moments, fostering a deeper appreciation for our unique Australian environment. Ideal for families looking for an unforgettable school holiday activity, animal lovers wanting a unique glimpse into the wild, or anyone craving a dose of nature's wonder.

Need to know

This pop-up is setting up shop near the Bondi Pavilion for one day only, so public transport is your best bet – the 333 bus or a short cab ride from Bondi Junction will get you there. Come dressed comfortably for walking and keep an eye on the weather; a hat and water bottle are never a bad idea in Sydney. Booking ahead is non-negotiable as capacity is strictly limited due to the sensitive nature of our guests, and sessions will sell out quickly. Aim for an early slot to beat any potential queues.
